Cleaning company is locally started,

WOMAN-OWNED success story

June 2011 Baton Rouge Business Report                                    Annual Report 2011 Special Feature

For the past seven years, Advanced Office Care has provided customized janitorial services to businesses throughout the Baton Rouge area. The company, which specializes in cleaning and floor maintenance services for commercial and industrial facilities, has built a solid reputation for its attention to detail and custom approach to meeting each client’s specific needs.

Nessa Vavasseur founded Advanced Office Care in 2006, after working for several years in the janitorial industry as a salesperson. “I was interested in getting more involved in the operations side,” she says. “I enjoyed taking care of the customers and I liked the cleaning side of the business. I wanted to work with customers beyond the initial setup.”

So, Vavasseur decided to establish her own company. She hit the ground running, and she hasn’t looked back since. Not long after Vavasseur founded Advanced Office Care, her husband, Clay, joined the company full-time. The combination of Nessa’s sales and customer service experience and Clay’s management and operations experience has helped Advanced Office Care fill a market niche. We are proud to be celebrating our fifth anniversary in Baton Rouge.”

Celebrating their 5th Anniversary, Advanced Office Care’s services have grown to include janitorial, floor stripping and waxing, floor maintenance and carpet cleaning. The company is also a distributor for janitorial equipment and chemicals from Multi-Clean and Minutemen, which has enhanced the local company’s service with national resources.

The hallmark of Advanced Office Care’s services, though, is the personalized service each client receives, according to Nessa. “We tailor our janitorial programs to meet each customer’s needs,” she says. “We start by walking through the facility with the customer. They tell us about their main concerns and we figure out how we can best serve them. If there are any problems, we respond immediately. Our customers appreciate our quick response and how we take care of them—and we love taking care of them!”

Advanced Office Care’s client mix is diverse and includes office buildings, retail stores, restaurants, medical groups, schools, factories and industrial buildings. Currently, the company is actively looking to expand its customer base in the medical, education and industrial fields.

And it is already one of Baton Rouge’s fastgrowing businesses. “When we started in 2006, it was just Nessa and me,” Clay says. “We now have over 40 employees that we’ve added to our family.” The company has also expanded its area operations into West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Iberville, St. James and St. Charles parishes.

The Vavasseurs, who are both LSU graduates, take pride in being part of the Baton Rouge-area business community. “We’re a locally started, woman-owned business.” “It is an honor for our company to be entrusted by others with access to their facilities. As we continue to be successful and expand, we will create more jobs in the area.

Ultimately, the Vavasseurs say working closely with our staff, hiring hard-working and dedicated employees, delivering excellent and immediate customer service, and maintaining a consistently high level of janitorial service all contribute to Advanced Office Care’s success. And, as Nessa notes, the relationships the company builds with its customers are essential, too. “When our customer has a need, we will be there to take care of them.”

“Advanced Office Care will always be about more than cleaning. We feel like if our customers are happy we are doing our job. We enjoy being be involved in helping them succeed.”
